What can this identify?
Reads PDF417, QR Code, Micro QR, rMQR, Data Matrix, Aztec, MaxiCode, EAN/UPC, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF, Codabar, GS1 DataBar and other supported variants. Identification covers fewer formats than generation. Postal codes, Pharmacode and some specialist formats cannot currently be identified.
A result requires successful decoding. A blurred, cropped, tiny or unsupported symbol may not produce a result. Similar variants can share a barcode pattern; the result does not certify a shipping label, registered product number or industry-specific document.

Is this barcode generator really free?
Yes. Generate and download PNG, SVG and GIF images without an account or a watermark. You can also keep barcodes in this browser without a fixed item limit.
Which barcode type should I choose?
Code 128 is a useful starting point for internal inventory. Use the format required by your retailer for product labels, usually EAN-13 or UPC-A. Choose QR Code for a link or text. Our format guide explains the differences.
Does generating a barcode register my product?
No. This tool turns your data into an image; it does not issue or register globally unique product numbers. For retail products, use the number assigned to the item and follow your retailer’s requirements. See GS1’s guidance.
Can I print the downloaded barcode?
Yes. SVG stays sharp when resized; PNG is convenient for everyday software. Keep the white space around the code, preserve its proportions and test a printed sample with your intended scanner. Required physical dimensions depend on the format and use case.
