Is this barcode generator really free?

Yes. Generate and download PNG and SVG images without an account or a watermark. You can also save up to 50 recent barcodes in this browser.

Which barcode type should I choose?

Code 128 is a useful starting point for internal inventory. Use the format required by your retailer for product labels, usually EAN-13 or UPC-A. Choose QR Code for a link or text. Our format guide explains the differences.

Does generating a barcode register my product?

No. This tool turns your data into an image; it does not issue or register globally unique product numbers. For retail products, use the number assigned to the item and follow your retailer’s requirements. See GS1’s guidance.

Can I print the downloaded barcode?

Yes. SVG stays sharp when resized; PNG is convenient for everyday software. Keep the white space around the code, preserve its proportions and test a printed sample with your intended scanner. Required physical dimensions depend on the format and use case.

Where are my saved barcodes?

On this browser, on this device. We do not upload barcode content. Clearing site data, using another browser or ending a private session can remove or hide your saved items. Download files you need to keep.
